A tiled-roof station,
a red platform
On the first Saturday of September we took a train from Suwon to Jeonju. In the afternoon we stood in the square in front of Jeonju Station, with its tiled roof; towards evening we were back at the same station, on a red platform, watching trains go by and the tracks running off into the distance.

Two seats by the window
Around half past twelve we were near Suwon Station; not long after, we were sitting on a train heading south. At 12:59, as it passed Osan, we took a picture side by side in our blue seats, midday light pouring in through the window.

Under the tiled roof
At 3:49 p.m. we were standing in the square in front of Jeonju Station. The building is shaped like a hanok, with several layers of tiled roof, and a board reading 전주역 (Jeonju Station) hangs under the central gable. September or not, the sun still felt like summer. One of us shaded their eyes with a palm and drank from a cup with a red straw.
A slice of lemon
By half past four we were sitting in a café in Samcheon-dong, Jeonju. Our drinks came in glass mugs with a slice of lemon. One of us held a mug up to the camera; the other sat chin in hand, looking off to one side.

The red platform
At 6:50 p.m. we were back at Jeonju Station. The platform floor was red, and pillars banded in green at the bottom held up the roof. One of us walked slowly down the almost empty platform, stretching an arm out, looking back, touching her hair.

Where the roof ended, a red railing ran along the edge facing the tracks. We took turns standing in front of it and photographing each other. Behind us, rails laid on gravel spread out in several lines and narrowed towards the signals in the distance.

Four months earlier, in May, we had walked under the white lanterns of the hanok village. This time, the place in Jeonju where we spent longest taking pictures was the station: in under a tiled roof, out onto a red platform.
