2012년 12월 23일부터 25일까지, 올림픽공원 체조경기장에서 김범수와 박정현의 크리스마스 콘서트 「그해, 겨울」이 열렸다. 사흘 동안 4만여 명이 다녀간 공연. 이브에는 저녁 7시 반과 밤 11시 반, 두 번 무대가 열렸고 우리는 7시 반 공연에 있었다.
From 23 to 25 December 2012, Kim Bum-soo and Park Jung-hyun played their Christmas concert, That Winter, at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Olympic Park, some forty thousand people over three days. On Christmas Eve there were two shows, at 7:30 and 11:30 pm. We were at the 7:30.
그때의 체조경기장은 케이블로 막을 매단 둥근 지붕이었다. 2018년 리모델링을 거치며 지붕은 철골로 바뀌었고, 이름도 KSPO DOME이 되었다.
Back then the arena still had its old roof, a membrane hung from cables. A 2018 renovation replaced it with steel and renamed the building KSPO DOME.

일 년에 한 번뿐인 저녁을 만 명 남짓한 사람과 같은 지붕 아래서 보냈다.
We spent the one evening of the year under the same roof as some ten thousand people.

7시 반에 열린 무대는 10시 반 무렵 끝났다. 이브의 세 시간을 노래로 채웠다.
The show that opened at 7:30 ended around 10:30: three hours of Christmas Eve, filled with songs.

일주일 뒤, 2013년이 불꽃으로 왔다A week later, 2013 arrived in fireworks
12월 31일 밤, 원주 오크밸리. 3주 전 토요일 밤에 슬로프 앞에 있던 그곳이다. 서원주IC에서 몇 분 거리의 리조트로, 겨울엔 스키장이 열린다.
The night of 31 December, Oak Valley in Wonju, the same place where we had stood in front of the slope on a Saturday night three weeks earlier. It is a resort a few minutes from the Seowonju interchange, with a ski area open in winter.
자정을 넘기고 5분, 하늘이 연달아 열렸다. 한 해가 바뀌는 데 필요한 건 그 몇 분이었다.
Five minutes past midnight the sky opened, again and again. Those few minutes were all it took for the year to turn.

새해 둘째 토요일 저녁, 파스쿠치. 머스터드 하나, 빨강 하나. 둘이 나눠 두르기에 꼭 맞는 수였다.
The second Saturday of the new year, an evening at Pascucci. One mustard, one red: exactly the right number for two.
노래가 있던 밤, 불꽃이 있던 밤, 그리고 목도리 두 개.
그해 겨울은 그걸로 충분했다.
A night with songs, a night with fireworks, and two scarves.
That winter, it was enough.
