12월 10일 토요일. 해 질 무렵의 강남대로는 이미 크리스마스였다.
Saturday, 10 December. At dusk, Gangnam-daero had already turned to Christmas.
저녁 일곱 시에는 광진구 능동의 유니버설아트센터에서 뮤지컬 〈햄릿〉을 봤다. 체코 작곡가 야넥 레데츠키의 작품으로, 2011년 공연은 10월 20일에 시작해 12월 17일에 막을 내렸다. 우리가 간 날은 마지막 공연까지 꼭 일주일 남은 토요일이었다.
At seven that evening we saw the musical Hamlet at the Universal Arts Center in Neung-dong, Gwangjin-gu. Written by the Czech composer Janek Ledecký, its 2011 run opened on 20 October and closed on 17 December; our Saturday was exactly a week before the last performance.
1981년 리틀엔젤스예술회관으로 문을 열어 2007년부터 유니버설아트센터라는 이름을 쓰는 곳이다. 유럽 오페라하우스를 닮은 붉은 객석과 금빛 발코니가 천여 석을 감싼다.
The hall opened in 1981 as the Little Angels Arts Center and has been called the Universal Arts Center since 2007. Red seats and gilded balconies in the manner of a European opera house wrap around about a thousand places.
늦은 저녁은 포몬스의 쌀국수와 볶음밥.

일요일 오후는 파스쿠찌의 허니브레드.
Sunday afternoon meant honey bread at Pascucci.

일주일 뒤 토요일, 흥덕의 카페에서 다시 허니브레드. 겨울 저녁의 흥덕, 나무마다 전구.
A week later, on Saturday, honey bread again at a café in Heungdeok. A winter evening there, bulbs on every tree.
다음 날 일요일 오후는 로티맘. 싱가포르에서 온 커피번 가게다.
The next afternoon, Sunday, was RotiMum, a coffee-bun shop that came from Singapore.
크리스마스이브의 대학로Daehangno on Christmas Eve
혜화역과 마로니에공원 둘레로 백 곳이 넘는 소극장이 모인 거리.
The streets around Hyehwa Station and Marronnier Park, home to more than a hundred small theatres.
