기흥구청 민원실The Giheung-gu office
목요일 오전, 용인 기흥구청. 결혼식은 지난해 8월 31일 전주에서 올렸고, 서류는 279일째 되는 이날 냈다.
Thursday morning at the Giheung-gu office in Yongin. The wedding had been in Jeonju on 31 August the year before; the papers went in on this day, day 279.
혼인신고는 주소지와 상관없이 시·구·읍·면 사무소 어디서나 할 수 있다. 신고서에는 성인 증인 두 사람의 서명이 들어간다.
In Korea a marriage can be registered at any city, district or town office, wherever you live. The form needs the signatures of two adult witnesses.
오후, 에버랜드Afternoon, Everland
같은 날 오후, 에버랜드. 해마다 5월 중순부터 6월 중순까지 장미원에서 장미축제가 열린다. 1985년에 시작한 우리나라 첫 꽃축제다.
That afternoon, Everland. Every year from mid-May to mid-June the Rose Garden holds the Rose Festival, which began in 1985 as Korea’s first flower festival.

6월 초, 해가 길어 저녁 7시가 가까워도 장미원은 환했다. 빨강, 하양, 분홍이 구역마다 따로 핀다.
Early June: the days are long, and the Rose Garden was still bright close to seven. Red, white and pink each bloom in their own beds.

문라이트 퍼레이드The Moonlight Parade
밤에는 문라이트 퍼레이드. 2001년부터 매일 밤 장미원에서 카니발광장까지 이어지는 에버랜드의 야간 퍼레이드다. 시작 전에 길가의 불이 거의 다 꺼지고, 빛만 남는다.
At night, the Moonlight Parade: Everland’s night parade since 2001, running from the Rose Garden to Carnival Square. Before it starts, almost every light along the route goes out, and only the floats are left shining.
