The second Saturday afternoon of January was spent in a café on the road along Gwanggyo Lake Park in Suwon, at the hour when winter light comes in long through the glass.

Eleven days later, at six on a Wednesday evening, after the sun had gone down: a café on Jeongja-il-ro in Bundang.

1월의 마지막 일요일 저녁, 서울 서초의 친척 댁에 가족이 모였다. 겨울 저녁의 긴 상은 늘 이야기가 길다.
On the last Sunday evening of January the family gathered at a relative’s home in Seocho, Seoul. On a winter evening, a long table always means long conversations.

1월의 마지막 토요일은 전주에서 가족과 함께였다. 한 달이 그렇게 닫혔다.
We spent the last Saturday of January in Jeonju with family. That was how the month closed.

On Saturday 14 February lunch was a housewarming spread for guests. Around noon the next day: Caffè Pascucci in Yeongtong, Suwon.
그날 밤은 만두를 빚었다. 설은 나흘 뒤였다.
That night we folded dumplings. Seollal was four days away.
2015년 설 2015년 설날은 2월 19일 목요일이었고, 연휴는 2월 18일부터 20일까지 사흘이었다.

카페의 창가, 일요일의 긴 상, 전주의 오후, 밀가루 묻은 쟁반. 그 겨울은 그렇게 설에 닿았다.
